This database is a digital version of the index to the obituary books complied by Nancy Crowder. The books are based on her work reviewing and duplicating obituaries found in Lawrenceburg/Lawrence County newspapers for the period 1846 – 1994. 

Though the index does not contain dates, each book corresponds to the year or years in the list on this page. 

For a copy of the obituary as found in the book, use the “Add to Request” button. If you are interested in a scan of the original obituary as it appears in the newspaper on microfilm, you can indicate that in the “Comments and Questions” section before submitting your final request form.  

Obituaries from 1994 to the present will be added at a later date. In the meantime, you may submit a research request form for a lookup in these later volumes.
